Save the earth, reduce carbon emission, tats wad we are preaching today at Dhoby Ghaut, Plaza Singapura Atrium...
It was raining and we had to get our ass up from the slumber...Jun hui volunteered as well...
When we reached there, we saw a group of green shirts cycling on stationary bike sponsored by Aibi Classic... Seems like they are participants from a school to break a 6 hour records of bike-athon...
We have Yan Ru, a in charge of the green mile. A pretty nice gal... She welcomed us with great smile...seems like a gd start...Not... Then we shook hand with the Indian president of the environmental interest group of NTU...
Our task as instructed by him were to record the amount of mileage cycled by individual public and if they have cycled 10km, freebies consist of shirt, notepad and newater will be distributed to them on a one time basis...
At our position, welding the board with papers, the response wasn't optimum due to the element of the nature, rain perhaps.. however, there are still commuters who showed their support for the event...
Hence, we started recording and handed the slip to the ppl at the counter who recorded on the laptop... however, theres this particular guy at the counter who seems to have animosity with us...the attitude he gave us were unhappy, care not, hostile attitude... with his seemingly small wicked eyes, i just wish i could put him down at that very moment...
and yes, we are the only 2 RP students volunteering... all of them are from NTU... so during lunch, in the volunteer holding area, jun hui and I were eating the nasi padang.. and a guy seated next to jun hui began chatting yada yada yada then the million dollar question, which school are you from? both of us looked at each other in dismayed...he replied republic poly...then jun hui in his heart say the guy must be laughing at us deep down like "haha, republic student, stupid, haha..."etc
after lunch, carried on our mundane volunteering... then a indian guy approached jun hui and asked him what is it all about...so jun hui explained to him tat tis is a conservation effort etc...and he was supportive... and even asked to take a photo of him...guess wad, he jus landed from s'pore yesterday from canada...on a business trip and his a JEWELER...so jh and i thght maybe he will give us sample of stones as soveunir...fat hope... he was friendly and warmth...so we chat with him along with other commuters as well....
and each time i had to go to the counter, i would curse that S.O.B sitting and slacking there...
and when we wanted to replace him so that he can go for lunch, he said...no, no...
wtf no ur head, u juz wan to sit and blow the fan...knn
but its ok, yu dan say muz be open minded...and we met another ntu gal she asked us the million dollar question again...which sch are ur from...she say jc? jun hui said poly...then she was like ohh ohh so which poly...jun hui say republic poly...and she was stunned again as she never heard it before...awkwardly...jun hui replied err its quite a new poly so you nv heard it before...and we are hit by the elites again...all ntu only 2 Rpians...
talking abt why only 2 rp come, pretty perturbed by the so call in charge who is only year 1...jh sms her and asked about why no rp student come..then she reply donno wad and asked us whether fun or not...tat m gal is totally hideous... and our conservation IG president, excos are also not here...wtf so much for authoritarian positions...
4p.m. finally ended our misery, treated ourselves to Manhattan Fish Market...
on the way, i tink jh saw liu liu, viwawa chat frend, i didnt notice it...bt its quite a coincidence to meet people frm the net...the meal was very err adrenaline pumping and tense lol...
after bill, went to the arcade and play basketball...so much fun, tag with jun hui. It was tiring but when the ball enter the loop continuously, its was great satisfaction...afterwhich we went off...
The Green Mile will be till the end of next week, if you happen to pass by plaza sing, do come down and cycle for a while, its FOC and freebies are awaiting...
