Happy Birthday Ah Gong!

Today is the Birthday of my Ah Gong(maternal).So HAPPY BIRTHDAY AH GONG!!! MAY YOU STAY HEALTHY AND HAPPY ALWAYS! His 73 tis year going strong & healthy. Always had the habit of waking up ard 4-5am.

His celebration was held just beside Nanyang Poly. Its called the Grassroot Club. No wonder I find it familiar when I reached there, along with the long shelter that links Yio Chu Kang MRT & Nanyang Poly.haha.Saw the clubhouse a couple of times bt didn't expect the coincidence to celebrate there.
There were 9 tables designated for our families. I didnt quite like the idea of celebrating with too many ppl. It'd be better if the close ones celebrated for him. Coz the attention would be all on him and not busy entertaining the guest.

Bt my uncle wants it to be grand for my grampy. So I guess its fine if ah gong is happy.

We waited till 8p.m. before the palate starts coming in.
There are altogether 10 dishes.

No.1Its called "Shou Tao" or Longevity Peach. So that my ah gong can lived till a 100 years and beyond...Inside its packed with "ling liong" smth like kaya I tink.

Its called "Cold Dish" coz firstly its cold, secondly its an appetizer.
There are Roasted Pork, Baby Octopus*my favourite!*, Sea Cucumber and Braised Chicked.

Its called Soup, ok lame i noe bt i dono the name. There are Boiled Chicken, Wonton, Fish Slice & SharkFin. Yea, the soup is tasty bt better if its more hot from the kitchen.

I was too late to take the complete photo of this dish coz I went to the loo. Anyway, tis is Roasted Duck. Best Dish Of All. Its crispy, succulent and the meat is not too tough. U noe some duck meat are so tough tat it bites like a chewing gum. So tis is the winner.

Steam Garoupa. I felt guilty eating tis coz overfishing of tis specie has decrease its population drastically. Bt its meat is soft and juicy,

Abalone & CuttleFish. Tis dish is ok coz there are abalones which we eat only on special occasion. But it'd be better if there is a bowl of rice.

Prawny Pumpkin, The Prawny is so bouncy like a ping pong ball. Haha.

Oatmeal Prawn, Tis is my all time favorite. From Young till Now, everyone in the family noe its my favorite so they would leave most for me. And perhaps its too sweet for them. Tats why i guess.

Fried Rice, Actually tis dish is not worth mentioning at all. It looks like a plain rice and it taste so-so. I don even noe whether I'm eating fried rice or not. So its out of the rating.

Its the final dish known as Mango Pomelo Sago. Sweet.Sour.Good.

In between the no.7 dish, the restaurant played a B'dae song and everyone stand up to sing/clap.

Up Next will be photos outside the lobbies. Most of them were camera shy so I had to pull out a couch, ask my ah gong to sit then we start taking photos. -_- bt its kinda fun. ya.

Finally its the Family Portrait. The Last time we took a family portrait was 1997. It was with my Ah Ma then. Atlas after 11 yrs we took tis photo once again.
